Key Message Due to ongoing weather disruption across the south of the UK, a number of services to/from Heathrow have been cancelled. Heathrow airport is currently open, although experiencing a reduced flow rate.
Customers due to travel on any British Airways service that is cancelled or delayed due to the weather on Friday 06 February 2009 only, can proceed as follows:
Flight bookings - flights operating as scheduled Any customers due to travel to/from Heathrow on a domestic or shorthaul flight only on Friday 06 February 2009 which is operating as scheduled may rebook to travel at a later date as outlined below:
Any customers due to travel to/from Heathrow only on a domestic or shorthaul flight on Friday 06 February 2009, which is operating as scheduled, can proceed as follows: - Customers can rebook for a later date from tomorrow onwards only as outlined below:
Rebook onto an available flight to the same destination within a 3-day period before or after the scheduled departure time of the original flight. If the same booking class is not available, the next lowest class may be booked within the same cabin. This will be at no additional cost to the customer, and if required, the validity of the ticket may be extended. or Rebook onto a flight to the same destination at a later date in the same booking class and cabin. The flight must be re-booked and travel must take place within the validity of the original ticket purchased. This will be at no additional cost to the customer. - These are the only two options available to shorthaul customers whose flight is operating as scheduled. - Refunds are not permitted unless allowed by the fare rules of the ticket purchased.
In addtion, within Europe only, customers may rebook to an alternative gateway in the same country or a gateway close by in a neighbouring country, i.e. Lyon and Geneva. Travel between the original destination and the alternative destination is at the customers own expense.
Flight bookings - cancelled/delayed services Customers due to travel on any British Airways service that is cancelled or delayed due to the weather on Friday 06 February 2009 only, can proceed as follows: - Customers can rebook for a later date from tomorrow onwards or request a refund as per the Customer Handling Guidelines.
Customers should be advised to go to the airport as planned, however, should check the status of their flight by visiting the Arrivals and Departures page on ba.com. If they do not reach the airport in time for their flight, they will be handled by airport staff. Any customers travelling on a longhaul service who cannot make it to the airport must abide by the rules of the ticket purchased. Shorthaul customers are covered by the options outlined above.
