British Airways is planning to operate its shorthaul services as scheduled today, Wednesday 04 February 2009. Therefore, the option for customers who choose not to travel on shorthaul services which are due to operate as scheduled has been removed with immediate effect.
The guidelines are now applicable to cancelled and delayed services (longhaul and shorthaul) and longhaul services due to operate as scheduled, today, Wednesday 04 February 2009 , where customers choose not to travel.
In addition, customers booked to travel on services which are cancelled or delayed are covered by the options outlined in the Customer Handling Guidelines only. The option to rebook lowest class available in original cabin on the first available flight has been removed. This option is now only applicable for travel within 3 days of the scheduled departure time as outlined in the Customer Handling Guidelines.

Flight bookings - flights operating as scheduled Any customers due to travel from Heathrow on a longhaul flight only on Wednesday 04 February 2009, which is operating as scheduled, can proceed as follows: - Customers can rebook for a later date from tomorrow onwards only as outlined below:
Rebook onto an available flight to the same destination within a 3-day period before or after the scheduled departure time of the original flight. If the same booking class is not available, the next lowest class may be booked within the same cabin. This will be at no additional cost to the customer, and if required, the validity of the ticket may be extended. or Rebook onto a flight to the same destination at a later date in the same booking class and cabin. The flight must be re-booked and travel must take place within the validity of the original ticket purchased. This will be at no additional cost to the customer. - These are the only two options available to longhaul customers whose flight is operating as scheduled. - Refunds are not permitted unless allowed by the fare rules of the ticket purchased.
