Guidelines LHR terminal moves for flights to/from Malaga and Vienna

15 Dec, 2008

British Airways will move a small number of European services between its London Heathrow terminals in its Summer 2009 flight schedule.
From the start of the summer schedule on 29 March 2009:

  • As a result flights between London Heathrow and Vienna, currently operating to and from Terminal 5, will move into Terminal 3.
  • The airline will also move flights operating between London Heathrow and Malaga into Terminal 3.

Advice for customers
Customers who have purchased their ticket, who are travelling from 29 March 2009 onwards and whose booking includes a transfer which is now within minimum connection times due to the terminal move from T5 to T3.

Under the British Airways conditions of carriage the customer is entitled to:

  1. Rebook onto the next available flight at no additional cost; or
  2. Claim a full refund of any unused parts of their tickets

If the customer chooses to rebook onto the next available flight, please proceed as follows:

  1. The customer should be rebooked onto the first available flight, in the same or lowest available booking class, in the same cabin.
  2. The ticket will need to be reissued/revalidated with the following comment added to remarks "connecting segment rebooked due T5 move".
  3. British Airways will not charge a service fee for rebooking direct or trade customers affected by the terminal move from T5 to T3
  4. The trade can rebook their customers in the same way or refer them to British Airways.
  5. British Airways will not be responsible for any other costs.
