Guidelines: CX cancellations due to Typhoon

Due to Typhoon Hagupit, Cathay Pacific have cancelled a number of services to/from Hong Kong. The following guidelines are for BA customers holding tickets for travel on BA* marketed codeshare services operated by Cathay Pacific to/from Hong Kong.

Please note, BA services continue to operate as scheduled and are not covered by these options unless the customer is holding a through ticket connecting to/from BA* marketed codeshare services operated by Cathay Pacific.

Advice for customers

Customers with tickets issued on or before 23 September 2008:

All re-booking / re-routing charges will be waived for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) where travel involves Hong Kong between 23 and 24 September 2008.

Details as follows:

Cancellation / rerouting

No waiver on cancellation and refund charges.

Rebooking

Rebooking charges will be waived on condition that:

- Requests are made on/before 26 September 2008 and before departure, where travel involves Hong Kong between 23 and 24 September 2008.

- No-show passengers are not eligible for the waiver.

- The revised travel date must be within 2-weeks of the original booking date and subject to flight availability. The ticket expiry date will be adjusted accordingly.

- The re-booked sector must observe and conform to the conditions of the respective fare rule, e.g. black out dates, flight application, eekend/weekday travel, s/o charges, and applicable seasonality's, collecting additional/refunding difference (if any) as appropriate.

- Re-issue charges will only be waived due to the expiry of the original ticket.

- Note: For flights that have been cancelled and /or confirmed as to be cancelled, please handle as an involuntary re-routing case.

Other carriers tickets - passenger air tariff general condition applies.

Frequent Flyer Programme tickets

- Cancellation / refund - not permitted.

- Rebooking: Permitted without payment of any rebooking fee as it is already a programme feature.

- Rerouting: The ticket re-issue fee will be waived for the re-routing request as long as the date of the confirmed booking falls between 23 and 24 September 2008.

The situation will be closely monitored and amendments issued if necessary.
