What are the benefits?

With Online Check-in, your customers can save time and avoid queues by checking in and selecting their seat online, from the comfort of their home or office. Then, when they arrive at the airport, passengers with hand-baggage only can head straight to the gate. Those with hold baggage can deposit it quickly at the Fast Bag Drop and then also be on their way to the gate.

What are the procedures around Online Check-in?

Bookings must be ticketed in advance of using Online Check-in.
A number of Online Check-in failures are occurring due to the absence of a ticket number within the booking. Failure to issue the e-ticket or to ensure that the e-ticket is in sync with any changes made to the booking record, will result in the passenger being asked to contact his or her travel agent and their attempt to check-in online will fail.

You should make every effort to issue the e-ticket as soon as possible after making the booking. This will avoid customer disappointment at not being able to use Online Check-in.

Remember - any changes made to an e-ticket booking should be reflected in the e-ticket record. Any changes should be synchronised - so that the booking and the e-ticket remain linked /associated.
