The New Mobile Apps

Background
British Airways was the first airline to develop an App for customers for the launch of the iPhone in the UK. Since then, over half a million customers have downloaded it from iTunes.

On 2nd August 2010 we had officially launched the additional features on our iPhone application.

The new–look iPhone app ensures customers have even greater functionality and have access to live flight information about their upcoming bookings, full integration with their Executive Club details and easily and smoothly guide customers through each stage of their flight process.

For the first time iPhone users can display boarding passes on their mobiles, which can be scanned at check-in to speed up and enhance the boarding process.

It will also provide improved flight information, a dedicated travel news section, FAQs, a Twitter news feed and a link to the ba.com mobile website.

On the 26th October 2010 we had launched the Blackberry mobile boarding pass, this means for the first time customers using a BA App on their Blackberry are able to display their boarding pass on their mobiles, which can be scanned at check-in to speed up and enhance the boarding process. This service is now available for Android phones since 16th November 2010.

Please see also attached BlackBerry leaflet.

iPhone users with the existing BA app simply need to accept the update on their iPhone. The new app will then replace the original app.

Please see also attached iPhone leaflet.

British Airways has continued to add a number of other features, which will help take the stress out of travel. iPhone users can now email their itinerary, see their gate number and add bookings to their Executive Club account. More phones and features are planned to be released shortly.
