British Airways welcomes Kingfisher Airlines on board

We are delighted to announce that from 15 September, British Airways and Kingfisher Airlines are to start codesharing on flights across India, Sri Lanka, the UK and continental Europe.
The codeshare flights are now available for sale.

This is the first time that British Airways has had a codeshare agreement with an Indian airline. 

British Airways’ (BA) code will be placed on 11 domestic Indian routes and one route to Sri Lanka operated by Kingfisher Airlines while Kingfisher Airlines’ (IT) code will be placed on nine British Airways’ routes from London Heathrow to the UK regions and continental Europe.

Your customers will be able to earn frequent flyer points on the codeshare routes and gain access to Kingfisher Airlines’ airport lounges.

British Airways and Kingfisher Airlines Codeshare Destinations

British Airways flies from London Heathrow to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
British Airways’ code will be placed on Kingfisher Airlines flights from Bangalore to Chennai, Kochi and Coimbatore; Chennai to Coimbatore and Colombo (Sri Lanka). Delhi to Bangalore and Kolkata; Mumbai to Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Kingfisher Airlines flies from Delhi and Mumbai to London Heathrow. Kingfisher Airlines’ code will be placed on British Airways flights from London Heathrow to Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Lisbon and Paris.

Kingfisher Airlines is expected to start flying as part of oneworld by the end of 2011.
British Airways is supporting it through its alliance implementation process as its oneworld sponsor.
